parisAURORA

Reflected light from mylar curtains in my parkdale studio create an auroral illusion on a 12 x 12' painting of the Paris skyline.
Although the work is shot with a digital still camera's video function, it is presented as found or discovered footage from a real event or the result of a faked "real" event in the distant past. The work is meant to confuse the viewer as to its own origin through the use of contradictory statements and play with the suspension of disbelief. The narration is a french voice synthesizer. The music is a virtual theremin. Nothing is real.
